Age Friendly

Our role in the project

HVA coordinate the Ageing Network and bring members together for regular meetings and events. We work together to shape activities and events related to ageing and provide support where there are gaps in services or identified need.

Who we’re working with

We work with a range of local voluntary and community organisations, statutory services, community centres, older peoples groups and businesses.

Our approach

Our strength is in listening and applying a ‘you said, we did’ approach to the feedback we get from local older people. We work with our Age-Friendly Ambassadors and the groups that they represent to put lived experience and grassroots insight at the heart of what we do. We are part of the Centre for Ageing Betters national network and work in partnership with our Local Authority to achieve Age Friendly Community status for Hastings.

FAQs

  • Who can get involved with the Ageing Network?

The network predominantly focuses on initiatives for people aged 50+. However everyone is “ageing”, so if you want to get involved in discussions about making Hastings a good place to get older, then come along to a meeting.

  • Where do Ageing Network meetings happen?

They normally happen at Central Hall, in Hastings, though we occasionally take our meetings ‘on tour’. See the HVA events page for meeting details, or email Debby.
