FAQs
Got a question about volunteering? You might find the answer here.
-
I want to volunteer and know the sort of volunteering I’d like to do. Can you help?
You can find a list of current volunteering opportunities on our website. This doesn’t show every volunteer role in Hastings, so if nothing on that page is quite right, get in touch and we may have other suggestions. Email jane@hastingsvoluntaryaction.org.uk or call 01424 444010.
-
Can you help me find volunteers for my organisation or project?
Yes – send us your role details. We regularly get enquiries from people looking to volunteer so if we know about your organisation or project, then we can suggest this to them!
-
I want to volunteer but I’m not sure what I want to do, or what might match my skill set. Can you help?
The easiest thing to do is provide some details about yourself on this form and we’ll be in touch. If you can’t complete the form for any reason, email jane@hastingsvoluntaryaction.org.uk or call 01424 444010.
-
How old do I need to be to volunteer? Is there an age-limit?
There are a lot more options for volunteers aged 18+, but there are still plenty of things available for people under 18. Take a look on our volunteering opportunities page for some ideas. As for an upper age-limit? In 2025, the oldest officially recognised volunteer was 103 years young.
-
Can I volunteer with HVA?
Some of our projects are supported by volunteers, but a lot of the time we signpost people to other organisations. If you’re particularly interested to volunteer with HVA, take a look at our projects page and get in touch with the project leader to find out if they are in need of more volunteers.
