Hundreds of voluntary and community organisations across Hastings are members of Hastings Voluntary Action. Membership is free and gives you access to a range of support, services and opportunities.

    Free use of Hastings Voluntary Action’s information services, including online promotion via our social media pages.

    Free fortnightly e-bulletins, sent by email and keeping you up to date with recent news affecting voluntary and community organisations in this area.

  • Join our directory

    Inclusion in our Directory of local voluntary and community sector resources. Our searchable, online directory is the go-to place for residents and organisations looking for information about voluntary and community groups operating in the Hastings area

  • Reduced rates on meeting rooms

    Reduced rates on affordable 1-2-1 booths and large meeting rooms for hire in Hastings town centre

  • Reduced rates on HVA’s Job Promotion Service

    HVA members receive a 50% discount on our job promotion service.

  • Equipment booking

    An equipment booking service is available for groups who may need to borrow things such as a digital projector, a hearing loop or display boards

  • Volunteer support

    HVA can offer a range of advice and support around recruiting, managing and retaining volunteers.

  • Support finding funding

    HVA’s Funding Advice Service includes reviewing funding applications and offering feedback, training about funding and fundraising issues, updates on the latest funding streams available and more!

    The opportunity to join the Hastings Community Network – a representative body which voices the views of Hastings community and voluntary organisations in order to influence decisions.

  • Advice setting up an organisation

    Support and advice on setting up or running a voluntary and community organisation.

Requirements

  • Be a not-for-profit organisation (e.g. charity, community group, social enterprise, etc).
  • Have an appropriate governing document.
  • Have a decision-making committee.
  • Have a bank account in the name of the organisation, and at least two people authorise any transaction (if holding funds).
  • If a CIC, have a minimum of 3 unrelated Directors, with the majority of Directors unpaid by the CIC.
  • Have a commitment to equal opportunities.
  • Work for the benefit of people in the Hastings area.
